Summer Camp

Every three years, we travel a few hours away for summer camp. This year we camped at Kentucky Lake Scout Reservation. One of the largest Reservoirs in the USA. A week of watersport fun and learning new skills.

Philmont Scout Ranch

60 miles of backpacking through the New Mexico Rocky Mountains. Posing next to a mile high cliff? No problem....

Kayaking Trip

Daytrip kayaking underground in a cave. A family trip that siblings joined the fun.

OA Service Project

Older scouts can participate in Scouting's Honor Society. Order of the Arrow is dedicated to service and brotherhood; led by the scouts who were chosen by their peers for their scout spirit.

Backpacking Weekend

A weekend learning backpacking skills. Most of our outings include scout shooting, as we have leaders approved by the council to schedule the range. This trip was no exception. Who doesn't like to break some clays?

Scuba Diving Certification

Professional Scuba Divers are one of the highest paid professions. Our scouts got open water certified. 40 feet underwater? No problem for our scouts. Yes, this is us playing Connect Four 30 feet underwater. Care to join us for a game?

Holloween Party

Our families came together for a night of spooky fun, food, and laughter at our annual Halloween party! We also have a Christmas party and joint all scout summer picnic with the cub families.

Climbing Gym Overnight

In the winter, when it gets colder, we have some inside camping trips. Like a climbing Gym. 50 foot rock wall? Our scouts are not afraid.

Salt Mine Overnight

We spent a night in a salt mine sleeping 600 feet underground, learning if a career in mining is for us.

Cosmosphere

We visited the largest private space museum in the US: Cosmosphere in Hutchinson Kansas. It has an interesting collection of WWII German and Cold War Soviet  space rockets.

Swimming

Once a month we usually have a fun day in place of a meeting. In January that was an indoor swim park.

Freeze Out

We pitched our tents on the snow. Yes it was in the 20's, but if you know what you are doing, it is a comfortable weekend of fun in the snow. Yes, we have ice cold skills.

Pinewood Derby

Our scouts are the track officials for the Pinewood Derby every year for Pack 317 at Immanuel. After the Cubs race, we race our own scout built cars. As scouts there are no limits other than width... and they can't have rockets. Darn....
